Carlisle Naturalist was the twice-yearly published society journal that ran for 20 issues from 1993 to 2012, with Spring and Autumn volumes (except issue 1) until it was succeeded by ‘Lakeland Naturalist’ in 2013. The geographical relevance of material published in Carlisle Naturalist was not restricted to the Carlisle area, but in fact covered the entire modern county of Cumbria (or Lakeland). All aspects of natural history were featured, from significant records and results of personal research to society field trips write-ups and news items.
